2/07/2012 Construction starts on first Primo station

Today VIA held the groundbreaking ceremony for the first of eight Primo stations to be built along VIA’s bus rapid transit line. This first one is located at Medical Drive across the street from University Hospital.

10/7/2011 VIA holds groundbreaking for new transit center and unveils Primo stations

VIA held a groundbreaking ceremony near the intersection of Babcock and Medical to kickoff construction of the new VIA South Texas Medical Center Transit Center. The center will serve as the Northern terminus for VIA’s first bus rapid transit line – VIA Primo. VIA also unveiled designs for the Primo stations that will serve riders along the route as well as the sleek colorful Primo vehicles on order. Primo is schedule to begin service before the end of 2012.

9/13/2010 Final Environmental Assessment Now Available

Via received a Finding of No Significant Impact as their environmental decision for the VIA Primo (BRT) project. VIA can now begin final design and real estate acquisitions as they relate to the project. (more)
